Fif has vowed to see his album drop in July, regardless of Interscope’s scheduling.
The New York rapper has had much-publicized spats with the record label recently in connection with album release rescheduling. This time, the G-Unit captain has put his foot down.
The release date for 50 Cent’s fifth studio album has already been pushed back by Interscope. In a recent interview with AllHipHop.com, 50 revealed that the album would be appearing on July 3, whether or not the records label provided a publicity campaign.
"There's a lot more business involved [in putting out an album] than the general public is aware of. And that part causes the actual delay with [Interscope]. I'm releasing my album July 3, whether is has commercial promotions or not," an obstreperous 50 explained.
"My birthday is July 6 and I planned for it. And I'm doing everything that I planned to do regardless if its huge airplay or not. I could care less, I'm putting the record out."
50 also explained that the album’s stalling was not due to album sales.
"I don't need a record to sell. How much money you think I'ma make off record sales? You think I'ma sell 13 million records?," 50 said. "It's starting to feel like that corner that I left. I ain't going to keep sitting on the records. Even if everything ain't in order, album five will be out July 3rd and they can wait another two years for me to give them another one."
