Outtakes from Ice T’s Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap are appearing all the time, but the latest sees Mr. West in a candid mood.
Kanye talks about the process behind creating his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and the mind-set he approached the LP with.
Yeezy explained that his technique differed considerably on MBDTF compared to his earlier albums. "I didn't write my raps down for the first four albums," Kanye explained. "I just did it from my head, straight to the booth."
He went on to describe the way he felt about working on his fifth solo project. "On this last album, on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, I wrote it," he revealed. "I really put myself in a zone that I felt like my life was dependant on the success of this album."
Kanye went on to describe how the pressure of expectation on that album had a part to play in the creation process.
"With that being the case, it said, 'You know what? No matter what anybody says about me...I can write something that makes someone that hates me the most have to really respect and love the song.'"
