One half of Hip-Hop duo, I.G. Off & Hazardous, has passed away.

I.G. Off, who formed part of the 1990s underground Hip-Hop group, has died from unknown causes. He reportedly passed away on Tuesday morning (June 12).

Confirmation of the rapper’s death came this week, although further details have not been released. The cause of death is, as yet, unclear. However, journalist and radio host, Jay Smooth, made an announcement via Twitter to mark I.G. Off’s passing.

“Just confirmed that the veteran emcee and longtime extended family at our radio show, I.G. Off, has passed away. RIP & love to all his fam,” Jay wrote on the social media site.

According to an article published by Complex, I.G. Off was paralyzed several years ago, after being hit by a drunken driver. The accident occurred in 2007.

I.G. Off and Hazardous both hailed from Queens, New York. I.G. Off had a notable career on the underground Hip-Hop circuit, and was well known for a lengthy array of freestyles and demos, as well as, of course, his work with partner, Hazardous. I.G. Off appeared on Rawkus Records' Lyricist Lounge, Volume 1 and Superrappin', Volume 2. He also worked extensively with the likes of DJ Spinna and Supernatural.
