Former Three 6 Mafia artist, Crunchy Black, has given his own take on an attack which landed him in hospital.
Just a matter of days after his shooting, Crunchy Black has spoken out about the incident, approaching the subject with humour and spirit.
Crunchy claimed that the shooting has in no way halted his music making, saying that he was already back to work. "You already know, I'm already in the studio, just trying to get some motherfucking songs done," he said. "And just show [everyone] ain't no stopping me."
Crunchy also showed spirit over the question of whether an incident of this nature actually motivated him more. The former Three 6 Mafia emcee claimed that knowing about his enemies and critics just persuaded him to work harder and harder at his music.
"Every time I find out I got a new group of haters, it just helps me out a little more to keep on pushing and pushing and pushing. So yeah, it motivates me like a motherfucker," he explained.
Crunchy Black responded with a surprising amount of humour to being shot in the face. "Because a nigga shot me in my jaw, hey man, you ain't do nothin' but make me look like Popeye eating some spinach."
He went on to deliver a spiritual message, when asked what people could learn from the incident. "Just know the devil is alive, and God is real. If you ain't gave God your life, you probably need to, because shit, this is a testimony on the side of my face."
