It seems DMX has been ruff riding a little too exuberantly of late.

The Dawg was involved in an accident whilst riding an ATV vehicle this weekend. DMX suffered a concussion after suffering an accident as he was riding a four wheeler in South Carolina on Saturday (July 14).

According to TMZ, Dark Man X was hospitalized following the accident, after becoming concussed as a result of falling from the vehicle. X was driving the ATV near his home in South Carolina, when the four wheeler flipped over. Although the Ruff Ryder landed on his rear, he still received a concussion, leaving him unclear about events following the accident.

The website reports that X said he was lucky to land on his behind, but that he doesn’t remember anything following the event, apart from lights in the ambulance. The bad boy rapper could also give no indication of when he was likely to be released from hospital.

DMX has a long history of association with fast and dangerous vehicles. In the video for his early single, Ruff Ryders Anthem, a number of stunts are pulled on motorbikes, ATVs and dirt bikes, and X is seen riding an ATV in the 2003 action film, Cradle 2 The Grave.

This is the second time that DMX has been hospitalized this year. In January, he visited hospital after a bout of food poisoning.
