Jay-Z, who is part owner of the Brooklyn Nets, was announced as Executive Producer of the upcoming NBA 2K13 video game. NBA 2K13 is one of, if not thee most popular basketball video game. A video was released today (July 30), confirming the partnership and even features Jay-Z’s music.
Fans expressed their excitement on Twitter by posting comments such as "Jay keeps winning”. The game has a release date of October 2, 2012, and a special "Dynasty Edition" of the game was announced last month. It’s presumed to be named after Jay-Z's fifth studio album, The Dynasty: Roc La Familia.
According to ESPN, Jason Argent, the Vice President of Marketing for 2K Sports said, “With this special edition package, we want to give something meaningful to our great fans. This is an awesome deal that is sure to please fans, and will become a must-have item while supplies last.”
The special edition features the full NBA 2K13 game with bonus All-Star content (slam dunk, three-point shootout), a professional size NBA 2K13 Spalding basketball, an NBA 2K13 controller skin and a pair if 2K Sports Skullcandy in ear headphones.
Jay-Z is holding a series of concerts this fall in celebration of the Brooklyn Nets. The first show kicks off on September 28th, 2012 at the Barclays Center, the team’s new home in Brooklyn, NY.
