Run DMC and Drake have been added to the list of performers at Budweiser's Made In America festival in Philadelphia this September. Chris Cornell, The Hives, DJ Shadow, Burns, Alleso, Nicky Romero, Gary Clark Jr., Michael Woods, and Otto have also been added to the line-up.
Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z will be directing and performing at the 2-day event. Other performers include Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Odd Future, D'Angelo, Rick Ross, Wale, and Meek Mill of Maybach Music Group, Passion Pit, Santigold, Dirty Projectors, X, Janelle Monae, Prince Royce, Rita Ora, Savoy (DJ set), Miike Snow, and The Knocks.
Jay-Z and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter officially announced the Made In America festival from the steps of the PhiladelphiaArt Museum on May 14. The festival will take place September 1 and 2 at Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
A video promo for the festival aired during the opening ceremony of the London Olympics Friday night. Jay-Z narrates the entire clip, but doesn't reveal himself to the end where he is seen standing on a stage in front of an American flag.
"Through all the lines and things that are put in a place to divide us, all like-minded people gather together, we're more curious than ever. We express ourselves, and when the world relates, that's a beautiful thing," Hov says. "We're all trading off each other's culture, so no matter what lines you put--country, indie rock, rap, we're all gonna find a way to come together."
