21 Savage is topping the charts on this week’s Billboard 200 with his new album, “American Dream.” This marks his fourth project to achieve this feat.
The anticipated release bows with 133,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 18, according to Luminate, nearly completely powered by streaming activity.
“American Dream” included 15 new songs, including collaborations with Travis Scott, Summer Walker, Lil Durk, Brent Faiyaz, Mariah The Scientist and more.
The project follows 2018’s “I Am > I Was,” which boasted assists from the likes of City Girls, Offset, Post Malone, Gunna, Lil Baby, ScHoolboy Q and Childish Gambino.
Moreover, “American Dream” serves as the soundtrack to 21 Savage’s upcoming film, “American Dream: The 21 Savage Story.” This film will feature 21, Jabari Banks, Donald Glover, Gail Bean, and more.
Directed by Donald Glover, Stephen Glover, Jamal Olori, and Fam Udeorji, the film explores three generations of 21 Savage amid a personal crisis. It will officially be released in theaters on July 4.
