Tupac Shakur‘s image is slated to feature as a playable character in the 2027 video game, “Stranger Than Heaven”.

Snoop Dogg, also part of this RPG, confirmed his former Death Row colleague’s inclusion at Summer Game Fest 2026 on June 5.

Snoop disclosed that he secured approval from Tupac Shakur’s Estate, Amaru Entertainment, to utilize the late rapper’s likeness in the game. In line with the storyline, Tupac will be known as Amaru, his middle name.

“The Tupac estate and my son and myself, we work very closely together,” Snoop said. “So it just made sense to put him in this game, because his likeness and his spirit still lives on. I just felt like it was so connected to what we’re doing.”

Sega issued a statement explaining that they obtained permission from Pac’s estate and outlined how his character was brought to life without relying on AI.

“RGG Studio is treating this integration with the utmost respect for his legacy, crafting every aspect in close collaboration and without the use of AI, including his character design based on archival footage and photographs,” Sega reportedly said.

A second trailer for “Stranger Than Heaven” debuted on June 5, offering fans their first glimpse of the character Amaru. Though he remains silent throughout, Amaru makes a striking appearance at the end of the preview, dressed in a white robe and sporting his signature blue bandanna tied at the front.

“Stranger Than Heaven” is scheduled to launch on both video game consoles and PC on January 15, 2027.
