While the 2022 BET Awards were in full swing at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday (June 26), Cardi announced to her 136 million Instagram followers that her new single titled “Hot Shit” will be released later this week. The track will be Cardi’s first single since last year’s hit song, “Up.”

“My new single ‘Hot Shit’ available everywhere THIS FRIDAY 7/1,” she captioned the post. “Tomorrow 8pm I got another surprise for yall, tune in.”

The track appears to be produced by Tay Keith, with his tag appearing in the snippet included in Cardi’s tweet. The two have previously collaborated on the songs, “Who Want The Smoke?,” “Type Shit,” “Wish Wish,” and “Big Paper.”

The post included a 15-second teaser of the single, which basically consists of Cardi saying, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah” several times over a bass-heavy beat.

It’s been four since Cardi B dropped her debut album “Invasion of Privacy” in 2018. It featured collaborations with Migos, Chance the Rapper, Kehlani, SZA, 21 Savage, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and YG.
