Celebrated rapper Lil Wayne will be heading on tour this Spring. The “Welcome To Tha Carter Tour” will be presented by Hip-Hop festival producer Rolling Loud and promoter Live Nation, alongside the rapper’s own company Young Money Entertainment.
Hitting 28-cities across the nation, the tour kicks off at The Fillmore in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on April 4. From there, Weezy will make stops in North Dakota, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
Later on, Wayne will hit major cities such as Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, New York and Philadelphia. The “Welcome To Tha Carter Tour” will wrap up a little over a month after its first show with a performance at Los Angeles’ The Wiltern on May 13.
Highlights of the tour schedule include Madison, WI’s The Sylvee (4/9), Chicago, IL’s Radius (4/9), New York, NY’s Apollo Theater (4/16), Atlanta, GA’s The Tabernacle (4/22), Birmingham, AL’s Iron City (4/24), St. Louis, MO’s The Factory (4/26), Lexington, KY’s Rupp Arena (4/30), Austin, TX’s Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheater (5/4), Denver, CO’s Fillmore Auditorium (5/7), Phoenix, AZ’s The Van Buren (5/9), and San Francisco, CA’s The Masonic (5/12).
The information of the tour arrives ahead of The Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective pre-Grammy event, where Wayne will be honored for his personal contributions to music as the recipient of the prestigious Global Impact Award.
