It marks the Queensbridge rapper’s fifth album in the last four years. Along with “Magic” and “Magic 2,” Nas put out the “King’s Disease” trilogy between 2020 and 2022.
“Magic 2” comes after Nas’ “King’s Disease III,” which was released last November. It debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 with 29,000 album-equivalent units, giving Nas his 15th top 10 album and tying him with longtime rival-turned-collaborator Jay-Z.
With his label, Mass Appeal, Nas has been celebrating 50 years of Hip-Hop through various ventures. In April, Swizz Beatz solely produced “Hip Hop: Vol. 2,” which featured Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Fivio Foreign and more in honour of the genre’s birthday.
In related news, in the beginning of September, Nas – real name Nasir Jones – will join forces with Wu-Tang Clan and De La Soul for the “NY State Of Mind Tour.”
