Kendrick Lamar reportedly spend more than $40 million USD for his new home in the affluent Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood, making it one of city’s most expensive property purchases of 2024 so far.
The seller is former chief legal and policy officer at Fox Corporation, Viet Dinh, per the WSJ. Dinh and his wife, Jennifer Ashworth Dinh, bought the house in 2019 for $19.5 million.
A 2019 listing for the home stated that the property features a square footage of approximately 16,000 and eight bedrooms in the main house, a wine cellar, gym, pool and guesthouse. It’s unconfirmed, however, if the Dinh family made structural changes during their time in the home.
In June 2021, Lamar listed his 3529-foot-square property in Eastvale, California for $800,000 USD after owning the home for seven years and purchasing it for $523,400 USD. He moved his parents and siblings to a different $2.65 million USD home in Calabasas a few years after.
The Compton artist has most recently made headlines for his feud with fellow rapper Drake. A series of diss tracks between the musicians has resulted in several number one hits for Lamar, whose latest song, “Not Like Us,” currently tops the Billboard Hot 100 list.
