Multiplatinum Hip-Hop luminary Quando Rondo proudly presents his anticipated third studio album, “Here For A Reason.”
Alongside the album, the Georgia rapper reveals the official music video for “Grow Up,” directed by BB Harris.
Building on his prolific catalog, Rondo made a conscious decision to get personal this time around. Over the course of 17 tracks, he traces his own journey out of “the trenches” and into a life as an artist with a voice for change. Ultimately, he stares down adversity and rises to the occasion.
He takes stock of his journey on the likes of “Boy To Man,” proceeding to profess, “I got my mind on the struggle with my heart in the gutter and my grind on my hustle.” He shows his melodic side on the hyper catchy banger “What Do You Know,” while his voice coasts over a bass-heavy production. He admits, “Always looked up to the hustlers and the ballers.”
A frenetic piano loop pierces the thick bass of “Grow Up,” while “Street Love” depicts a rare romance. Then, there’s “Don’t Give Up On Me.” Woozy guitar infuses bluesy energy into the track as his unfiltered rhymes take hold. From the jump, he urges: “If you really love me, then you gotta show me, cuz words don’t mean nothing to me no more.”
Fittingly, the trip culminates with a plea for love on “Don’t Give Up On Me.” Here For A Reason is a definitive body of work from Quando Rondo, and marks the beginning of his illuminating next chapter.
