Pooh Shiesty is back home.
Representatives for the Memphis rapper confirmed his release from prison on Monday (October 6), following more than three years of incarceration.
Videos of Shiesty celebrating his return with family and friends quickly circulated on social media, delighting fans. However, his sudden release caught many off guard, as his initial release date had been set for April 2026.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ database, the “Back In Blood” artist, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams, is no longer in federal custody. Shiesty had been serving a 63-month sentence in prison since 2022 after being convicted on firearm conspiracy charges.
The charges were linked to an October 2020 shooting in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Prosecutors stated that Pooh Shiesty and two associates arranged a meeting to purchase marijuana and luxury sneakers. The situation escalated outside the Landon Hotel, resulting in a shootout that left both sellers injured. Thankfully, they survived.
Following the incident, he faced four charges related to the shooting but was later arrested again in May 2021 for a separate shooting at Miami’s King of Diamonds strip club after initially posting bond.
Shiesty eventually agreed to a plea deal in January 2022, pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-related crimes. In exchange, prosecutors dropped three other charges, including the accusation that he was the shooter. The rapper was subsequently sentenced to five years and three months in April 2022.
