Fetty Wap acknowledges 50 Cent for offering crucial support β both financial and emotional β during his challenging three-year prison stint related to a federal drug case.
According to Fetty, the rap mogul was the one person in the music industry who consistently stood by him throughout his ordeal.
Now free after completing his sentence in Minnesota, Fetty joined “The Breakfast Club” on Friday (January 9) for his first post-release interview.
He reflected on 50 Centβs unwavering support, stating: β50 did a lot for me. From day one, it was like, βWhatever you need, just holler at me.β Iβm like, βAll right.β Then [he] was like, βWhere this money going?β Iβm like, βWhat?β I ainβt used to that. Iβm used to itβs always the other way around.β
It wasnβt just financial assistance; 50 Cent offered advice and guidance over the phone, always making himself available when Fetty needed him. Fetty highlighted that 50 even checked in on him regarding his return home after prison.
βWhatever I needed, he was right there,β Fetty continued. βHe answered the phone. He didnβt shy off all the way down to the time Iβm about to come home, βHow you getting home?β As far as financial and mental help, he was probably there the biggest.β
Their conversations often included 50 encouraging Fetty to reevaluate his decisions and keep creating music. The veteran rapper was a source of motivation, pushing him to work harder and avoid setbacks. Fetty added, mimicking 50 Centβs Queens accent:, βYou shouldβve never stopped making music. You shouldβve kept going hard.”
In response to Fetty Wapβs praise during “The Breakfast Club” interview, 50 Cent shared a clip of the discussion on Instagram while welcoming the βTrap Queenβ artist back home. His caption read, βWOP HOME fresh out the FEDβS ready to work. He good I got him letβs get it.β
