Los Angeles rapper Luci4 has passed away at the young age of 23.

The rising artist died at a private residence, according to a L.A. County Medical Examiner report.

The news was confirmed late Sunday (February 22), by his manager Kayla G, who shared an emotional message via TikTok.

“I am devastated to inform you that today, James, Luci4, Axxturel has passed away. He was truly a leader a king and a musician and a genius,” she wrote of the artist born James Dear.

“There’s nobody like him and there will never be. We all loved him dearly. Rest Easy. Please allow family and friends privacy and patience during this difficult time.”

The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Luci4 began his journey in music as a producer within Spaceghostpurrp’s BMB Deathrow collective. Over time, he became a pioneering figure in SoundCloud’s sigilkore scene and profoundly impacted the underground krushclub subgenre.

Known for his versatility and innovation, the rapper — who also went by the alias Axxturel — gained recognition with his breakout single “BodyPartz” in 2021.

The track led to a deal with Atlantic Records and later achieved RIAA gold certification in 2024. Its apocalyptic-themed music video has garnered over 4 million views on YouTube, cementing Luci4’s lasting influence on the music scene.
