Busta Rhymes and J Dilla are coming together once again for a new album set to drop this year.
The Flipmode Squad leader hosted an exclusive listening session in New York City on Thursday night (February 20), to preview “Dillagence 2”, a follow-up to the original mixtape they released in 2007.
Accompanied by Statik Selektah and DJ Tony Touch, Busta shared the upcoming project with an audience of fortunate fans and close friends. The album appears to feature a collaboration with Lil Wayne, which has already sparked excitement.
Statik Selektah teased a brief clip on his Instagram Stories showcasing what seems to be Weezy’s contribution, even tagging the Young Money icon. If confirmed, this would mark the first instance of Lil Wayne rapping over a J Dilla beat.
Before the event, Busta announced the project on Instagram with an electrifying post, expressing his excitement: “THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP SO WE DON’T STOP!!! NEVERRR!!! BREAKING NEWS!!!! [eyes emojis] BUSTA RHYMES x J DILLA NEW ALBUM!! POP UP LISTENING SESSION TONIGHT!! [fire emojis].”
