New details have emerged regarding the arrest of rapper Pooh Shiesty in Dallas, sparking widespread speculation online.
Earlier reports confirmed that Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., along with his father, was detained following an FBI raid on their residence. At the time, the charges against them remained unclear.
Updated information from the Department of Justice now indicates that the arrest stems from a January 10, 2026 incident at a Dallas recording studio, which officials have described as an “armed takeover.”
According to reports from WFAA8, multiple individuals were allegedly kidnapped and robbed during this event. Intriguingly, Gucci Mane’s name has surfaced in connection with the case.
Prosecutors allege Shiesty orchestrated the meeting under the pretense of discussing his recording contract while still signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Global Music imprint after releasing his last project, “FDO.”
However, once inside the studio, events reportedly escalated into a planned robbery involving several accomplices.
The federal complaint reveals investigators identified suspects primarily through Instagram activity and their connections to known associates. Authorities linked Shiesty to his verified account, @poohshiesty, and another individual, Big30 (Ceobig30), was also identified as being present during the incident.
Social media quickly latched onto one detail in the complaint — that victims recognized some of the perpetrators, including Shiesty himself.
This sparked rumors suggesting Gucci Mane might have “helped the feds” in identifying those involved. However, legal experts note that such identification processes are routine in cases where suspects and victims are familiar with each other, making online speculation largely unfounded.
