In a troubling incident, Desiigner made a 911 call in which he expressed suicidal thoughts while engaging in a heated dispute with the mother of his child.
On April 8, TMZ released audio from the March 24 call that triggered a police response from the Horry County Police Department in South Carolina and eventually led to the rapper’s arrest.
During the call, the artist, known for his hit “Panda,” can be heard in a tense confrontation with his child’s mother.
In the recording, Desiigner repeatedly yells at her, telling her to “choke yourself” and “go kill yourself.” He then speaks directly to the dispatcher, pleading for assistance and claiming that the woman was attempting to fight him and leave with their child. He also alleges that she may have tampered with his marijuana.
“Please help me,” he implored during the call. “She won’t leave me alone. I’m suicidal now.”
The incident occurred on March 24 and resulted in Desiigner being taken into custody on domestic violence charges. According to the police report, the 28-year-old rapper allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and tore her clothing as she tried to leave with their child.
He was released later that day after posting a $1,500 bond.
