The Bad Boy Records founder spent between $7 million and $8 million in legal expenses over nearly two years. This substantial amount covered the expertise of his defense team, which included attorneys such as Marc Agnifilo, Teny Geragos, Brian Steel, Nicole Westmoreland, and others, who defended him since his arrest in September 2024.

Diddy faced charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. After an eight-week trial in 2025, he was acquitted of the racketeering and sex trafficking charges but was found guilty on two counts related to the Mann Act for transporting escorts across state lines.

In October 2025, he received a 50-month prison sentence and is currently incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.

His release date has shifted multiple times over the past year. Initially planned for January 24, 2028, it was pushed to February 20, 2028, after an incident involving another inmate in July.
