10 years ago today, the music industry mourned over the passing of Shawty Lo at the age of 40.
The founder of the Hip-Hop group D4L passed away in a car accident on Interstate 285 in the southwest region of Atlanta.
In 2006, Shawty Lo achieved a Billboard #1 with D4L’s hit “Laffy Taffy” and later secured the BET “Hip-Hop Track Of The Year” award for his breakthrough solo single, “Dey Know,” released in 2008.
May he rest in peace and his legacy continue to be remembered.
