A$AP Rocky has pleaded not guilty to felony gun charges that claim he shot Terell Ephron – formerly known as A$AP Relli – in Hollywood in November 2021.
In November 2022, Rocky was charged in connection with a 2021 shooting and is facing two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm with allegations of personally using a firearm.
The 35-year-old rapper, born Rakim Mayers, was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport in connection to the crime in April 2022. In November, during a preliminary hearing that included testimony and surveillance video evidence, a Los Angeles judge ruled there was sufficient evidence for Rocky to go on trial.
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” District Attorney George Gascón said. “My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”
The alleged victim claims Rocky – who shares two sons, RZA, 19 months, and Riot Rose, 5 months, with pop superstar Rihanna – fired a gun twice in his direction, leaving his left hand injured.
The next hearing is scheduled for March 6.
