Akon has confirmed the rumors that the sequel of his popular single “Locked Up” will be featured on Tekashi 6ix9ine’s new album.

That’s not going on my album, but it’s going on his [6ix9ine’s] album. It was more for him to tell his story, and I thought it was super important, because most people never really been locked up, so it was funny to read some of them comments.

Akon and 6ix9ine linked up while the latter was on house arrest a few weeks ago. The “GOOBA” rapper posted a snippet of the new track via Instagram with Akon seated right beside him.

The Konvict Music CEO released “Locked Up” back in 2005 with Styles P. The song instantly became a street anthem that resonated around the world.

Considering Akon isn’t working with Lady Gaga anymore and has serious business investments, it’s really not going to affect him with credibility in the streets. Later this summer, 6ix9ine is planning to release his next project, which we’re assuming the track will end up on the effort.
