Emerging Atlanta rapper Shinin’ gives you an exclusive behind the scenes look at the life of a southern rapper as he documents the process of making music.
In the first episode of the “Free Show” vlog series, directed by Rex West, Shinin’ is looking for a producer to work with on his freshman album. The prolific rhymespitter finds Swagg B, a kid from Cleveland with a southern sound, as the perfect fit to be executive producer. The aspiring rapper and talented producer agree to collaborate on the project together, and Shinin’ flies Swagg B to Atlanta to sign the contracts and get in the studio together.
Everything was running on schedule until Shinin’ realizes he left his bag with all the deals and the flash drive with all of the session files. So he turns back around to get it, trying to cut through the infamous Atlanta traffic to pick up Swagg B from the airport and make it to the studio session in time.
My lawyer brought the idea to my attention and introduced me to director Rex West. We just felt that we do a lot behind the scenes that fans might want to see. I have done similar vlog series before and thought it would be a good way to stand apart from the music.
