Hollywood might soon have a New Orleans Rap story in the works if B.G. and Juvenile‘s plans materialize.

In a recent discussion, these veteran Cash Money collaborators proposed the idea of transforming the Hot Boys’ journey into a film. B.G. expressed confidence that their story could hold the same impact as Straight Outta Compton.

About 55 minutes into the September 16 episode, B.G. shared his belief that a Hot Boys movie could become a “blockbuster,” prompting Juvenile to start suggesting studios that might be interested in producing it.

“The sh*t I’ve been through, sh*t you’ve been through, sh*t Wayne been through,” he said. “All of us done been through some sh*t. We all got a story to tell.”

At this stage, the concept hasn’t been announced as an official film project. Instead, it’s a proposal from two members of a group whose roots trace back beyond their three-album journey.

Story Could Be Bigger Than One Movie

In the late 1990s, B.G., Juvenile, Lil Wayne, and Turk formed the Hot Boys under Cash Money Records, contributing significantly to the label’s establishment before each member embarked on their unique career paths.

Juvenile has suggested that the story might be better suited for a limited series format, allowing ample narrative space for each member to share his perspective. Both he and B.G. have expressed their preference against relying on AI-generated scripts, advocating for storytelling shaped by those who experienced that era firsthand.

The idea has gained momentum with recent developments. The Hot Boys have been publicly reuniting, exemplified by Turk sharing rehearsal footage with Wayne, Juvenile, B.G., and Mannie Fresh. Juvenile has also mentioned that the group is working on new music, though a full album hasn’t materialized yet.

In addition to this, B.G. has progressed with another film endeavor. According to Complex, a solo biopic detailing his life, from his upbringing in New Orleans to his ascent with Cash Money, is expected to commence filming in the city soon.
