BeyoncĂ© lit up the Fourth of July by unexpectedly releasing a new track, “Morning Dew (Donk)”, marking her first new music in two years.
As stated in a press release, the song pays homage to her devoted BeyHive, celebrating the upcoming milestone of “BâDay”. The release of “Morning Dew (Donk)” kicks off a 60-day countdown to the 20th anniversary of BeyoncĂ©’s second album, “BâDay”, which originally launched on September 4, 2006.
Notably, September 4th is also BeyoncĂ©’s birthday.
Initially intended for the 2006 album, “Morning Dew (Donk)” was co-written by BeyoncĂ©, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, and produced by BeyoncĂ© and Williams. A lyric video accompanies the song, featuring vintage footage captured by Cliff Watts.
“Morning Dew (Donk)” represents BeyoncĂ©’s first new music since she released “Cowboy Carter” in March 2024. The third part of what’s believed to be a trilogy that began with 2022’s “Renaissance” has not been revealed yet.
