Boosie Badazz faces the prospect of a significant prison sentence after pleading guilty in a federal firearm case stemming from his 2023 arrest.

The Louisiana rapper appeared before a federal judge in San Diego on August 26, acknowledging the charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm — a conviction that carries up to 15 years of imprisonment.

This case originates from a traffic stop in May 2023, during which officers searched the vehicle Boosie was traveling in and found two firearms. While state charges were initially dropped, federal prosecutors pursued the matter, citing legislation barring convicted felons from owning or accessing firearms.

Boosie’s legal team previously challenged these restrictions, referencing recent Supreme Court rulings about nonviolent offenders and Second Amendment rights, but their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.

Following his guilty plea, Boosie reflected on the impact of the case with CBS 8 San Diego, describing how it has disrupted both his professional and personal life. He stated that he wants to resolve the matter and move forward, emphasizing its interference with his ability to travel and pursue career opportunities.

His attorney underscored Boosie’s dedication to community service and philanthropy, expressing cautious optimism about sentencing, which is scheduled for November 2025. Currently out on a $100,000 bond, Boosie remains active in addressing the situation publicly.

Earlier this month, the rapper shared his thoughts on social media in an emotional post where he announced his acceptance of the plea deal and expressed exhaustion from fighting the charges. Despite his frustration, he conveyed a sense of faith and resignation about moving toward the next phase of the legal battle.
