Cardi B has decided to step back from the world of social media, citing the relentless negativity that has become a part of her online presence.

“I feel like people on social media are f*cking crazy and bananas, and I feel like they gonna drive me crazy,” the Grammy-winning artist said during a Twitter Spaces stream.

“There’s a whole bunch of people that was in the f*cking slow class and ya’ll not gonna muthaf*ckin’ make me feel like ya’ll. They ain’t gonna me me feel like them, so I just have to get the f*ck off this sh*t.”

For the past week, Cardi has been defending her husband Offset who was accused of cheating on her. The woman in question was revealed to be his stylist and cousin.

Offset was also in a back and forth with Kenneth Petty, the husband of Nicki Minaj, who made violent threats against the former Migos rapper. Kenneth has been placed on house arrest for the threats.

Cardi B’s decision to take an online break highlights the toll that constant scrutiny and online negativity can take on even the most prominent artists in the industry.
