Cardi B has every reason to celebrate last Friday (September 19), as her highly anticipated sophomore album “Am I The Drama?” has earned a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on the very day of its release.

Spanning 23 tracks, the album includes her chart-topping hits such as the nine-time platinum sensation “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion and the five-time platinum anthem “Up,” both of which previously claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Cardi B defended her choice to include these singles on the new album, addressing fans and critics via X.

“WAP and Up are two of my biggest songs, my fans have been asking me to put them on an album, and people search for them on IOP all the time… they deserve a home,” she wrote on X. “I let haters make me not submit WAP for the Grammy’s and at this point I’m giving my fans what they want!”

The RIAA also congratulated her achievement on X, stating: “Congratulations @iamcardib! Her brand new album #AmITheDrama? is out now and already RIAA certified Platinum, featuring the certified 9x Platinum hit #WAP and 5x Platinum #UP @AtlanticRecords.”

This accomplishment adds yet another milestone to Cardi B’s career. In 2022, she made history with her debut album “Invasion Of Privacy”, becoming the first female rapper to have all 13 tracks certified platinum or higher by the RIAA.
