Common and Pete Rock share the music video for “Dreamin’.”
The visual, directed by award-winning filmmaker Raven Jackson, features the two veteran musicians in New York City and includes a collection of Common’s home videos, offering fans an intimate glimpse into special moments of his life.
“Dreamin’” comes from the duo’s collaborative “The Auditorium Vol. 1” project, released last month. The album features Bilal, Jennifer Hudson, Posdnuos, and PJ across 15 tracks.
“It’s a blessing that we connected at this point in our lives and if God’s willing, we will continue to just create,” Common told Forbes. “It could be in different facets, like of course more volumes of the Auditorium. But there’s so much potential with Pete and I. I do believe that this is the beginning of us creating more and more.”
Rock added, “I think that over the years of being in this music business a lot of magic happens. That comes from really loving what you do. But when you’re around that all the time, it just inspires you to shine in that way. And so it’s natural for us.”
Following the release, Common and Pete Rock are set to hit the stage today in Del Mar, CA, kicking off their anticipated “The Auditorium Tour.” This unique show will bring their new album to life in a way fans have never seen before.
The 18-stop tour will visit major cities including Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville, and Boston, culminating in a three-night residency at New York City’s Blue Note Jazz Club from September 23-25, with two shows per night.
