Rapper Dave Blunts has shared a teaser of a forthcoming track in which he accuses Kanye West of trying to manipulate him during their professional relationship.
The two artists had previously collaborated on West’s album, originally titled “Cuck” but later renamed “In A Perfect World”. Blunts contributed as a songwriter on several provocative tracks, including “WW3,” “Heil Hitler,” and “Cousins.”
Despite the initial partnership, Blunts now claims their relationship has soured.
In the snippet, Blunts raps: “Cut off Kanye West ’cause that n-gga tried to groom me,” making a pointed accusation against the acclaimed but controversial artist. As of now, West has not publicly addressed the allegations or the referenced lyric.
Adding context to his claims, Blunts shared screenshots of what appear to be text message exchanges between him and West. In the conversation, Blunts tells West that he can no longer work on the album, citing ideological differences.
He states, “It does not align with what you want me to do. I appreciate the opportunity but respectfully I’m out.”
West appears to respond: “Ok thank you. What are the parts that didn’t align.”
Blunts replied: “You are very lost. Please find God.”
While Kanye West has been relatively quiet on the music front recently, his upcoming documentary “In Whose Name?” is set to drop this week, promising an in-depth look into his life and career.
