Rappers Dave East and Papoose had an open and honest dialog about being fathers and postpartum depression in a recent sit-down interview.

Released on Friday (May 19), episode 2 of “Listen To Black Men” β€” a brand new interactive video series with CassiusLife and MadameNoire β€” sees both New York artists, alongside a number of industry insiders and social media personalities, delving into both pertinent topics and giving their views from personal experience.

β€œOnce kids come into play, it ain’t the same situation,” Dave East mentioned. β€œIt ain’t just you coming home and we fuck. It’s never the same. It’s a big girl and little girl, I can’t just come in the spot butt-naked, out the shower, β€˜Wassup baby. What we doing?’ ”

β€œWhen a woman gives birth, it’s a big deal,” Papoose chimed in. β€œI think that as a man, you gotta understand what your woman just went through and you really gotta be patient and roll out that red carpet and you really gotta play a whole different role. I mean she just had a baby. You can’t expect her to go to the fucking club.”

Dave East then talked about being a stepfather while Papoose touched on the significance of parenting and helping each other through their issues.
