Desiigner has been taken into custody on a domestic violence charge in South Carolina.
The Horry County Sheriff’s Office booked the rapper, best known for his hit “Panda” and whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, on March 23.
The 28-year-old was released the next day, March 24, after posting a $1,500 bond. He is currently facing a third-degree domestic violence charge. As of now, no further details about the court proceedings are available in the Horry County Sheriff’s Office database.
A mugshot of the Brooklyn-born rapper, dressed in an orange prison jumpsuit, started circulating widely on social media on March 25.
This isn’t the first time Desiigner has encountered legal issues. In April 2023, he was arrested for indecent exposure during a Delta flight from Tokyo to Minneapolis. According to authorities, the rapper was accused of masturbating during the flight.
Reports from a criminal complaint stated that about 60 to 90 minutes after takeoff, a flight attendant observed him engaging in the act. Despite being told to stop, two additional crew members later noticed him exposing himself again.
