Diddy has officially begun his prison sentence and has taken up a new job while incarcerated: handling laundry for fellow inmates.

On Thursday (October 30), Puff was approved for transfer to Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey. According to a report from TMZ on Friday (October 31), the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment has been assigned to work in the prison’s laundry as his initial role.

Following his arrest in September last year, Diddy spent the past 13 months at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center fighting legal battles. While he was acquitted in July of more severe charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, he was convicted on two counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution.

In October, he received a 50-month prison sentence.

Inner City Press reported additional penalties stemming from Diddy’s sentencing. The judge ordered a $500,000 fine to cover part of the costs associated with his incarceration. Though no restitution was mandated, forfeiture was included in the order, along with a statutory fine of $5,000 and a special assessment fee of $200.

Diddy’s legal team successfully petitioned for his transfer to Fort Dix, described as a low-security facility. The move was intended to address substance abuse concerns, facilitate family visits, and support rehabilitation efforts.

As it stands, Diddy’s release is scheduled for May 8, 2028.
