Sean “Diddy” Combs has received another break behind bars, and his latest prison move appears to be working in his favor.
Diddy’s prison sentence reduction comes after the disgraced music mogul was transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood in Pennsylvania. According to reports, his projected release date has now moved up three weeks to February 6, 2028.
For Diddy, the latest adjustment is significant. His release date has bounced around repeatedly over the past year, with disciplinary issues threatening to keep him behind bars longer.
Diddy’s Prison Release Date Moves Up Again
When Diddy was initially sentenced to 50 months in federal prison, his projected release date was in April 2028. Over time, that date moved forward to January 2028, giving the mogul reason to believe he could get out sooner.
However, controversy inside prison changed everything.
Reports of alleged contraband cellphone use and an alleged physical altercation with another inmate resulted in disciplinary consequences. His projected release date was subsequently pushed back to March 2, 2028.
Now, according to TMZ, Diddy’s prison sentence has effectively been shortened again, with his new projected release date set for February 6, 2028.
Could FCI Allenwood Be Diddy’s Fresh Start?
Diddy’s transfer to FCI Allenwood could prove important. The Pennsylvania facility is a low-security prison with a considerably smaller inmate population than Fort Dix.
Some have speculated that the move could make it easier for him to avoid further disciplinary problems. However, there is no confirmation that the transfer itself guarantees additional sentence reductions.
Ultimately, Diddy’s ability to maintain good conduct could play a major role in whether his release date moves forward again.
The former Bad Boy Records executive was convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and sentenced to 50 months. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
For now, February 6, 2028, is the projected date. Whether Diddy can avoid another setback remains an open question.
