Drake‘s highly anticipated album, “Iceman”, might be dropping sooner than expected.
On December 10, DJ Akademiks weighed in on the buzz surrounding the rapper’s noticeable absence.
“Damn .. yall ni**as really miss Drake… I’ll let him kno,” Ak tweeted on X.
Following this, he hinted at something big on the horizon, noting how critics have shifted their stance.
“All the haters done change their tune .. maybe yall were right all he needed to do was to fall back n let yall realize ain’t shit popping out here without him and now yall all remember the glory days huh… [ice emoji] so soon.”
Although it’s neither a release date nor an album cover announcement, it’s reassuring to see Drake and his inner circle keeping fans intrigued. After all, it’s been more than two years since his last solo album, “For All The Dogs”.
Drake has been teasing his ninth studio album steadily throughout the year. Back in February, during his “Anita Max Win Tour” stop in Australia, he spoke about the album, describing it as an intimate conversation with his audience.
“Eventually, when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all,” he told the crowd. “When the time is right, I’ll be back with another album—a one-on-one conversation with y’all that you need to hear.”
As part of the buildup, Drake launched the “Iceman” YouTube series, premiering tracks such as “What Did I Miss?,” “Which One” featuring Central Cee, and “Dog House,” a collaboration with Yeat and Julia Wolf that has stirred excitement among fans. Just last week, he teased yet another unreleased song that may be featured on the upcoming project.
Adding fuel to the speculation, Drake’s October’s Very Own brand recently announced a partnership with Marvel. The collaboration aligns perfectly with the album title, sharing its name with Marvel’s Iceman character, Robert Louis “Bobby” Drake.
Fans have taken this as a hint that “Iceman” could officially arrive very soon.
