E-40 continues his reign as one of the most consistent rappers in the game.
The Bay Area legend dropped his new track entitled “Beating They Ass” alongside a new music video. Directed by Jae Synth, the minimalistic, black and white visual and follows E-40 as he engages in a series of hyped-up activities.
Lyrically, E-40 is in pure punchline mode. He’s always been a witty rapper, knowing when to throw some fun bars in there.
Produced by EJ Galloway, E-40’s latest track showcases his penchant for switching up rhyme styles, freshly blending an array of slick flexes and street wisdom.
In his opening bars, he spits: “Dual exhaust, roaring like a lion (Rah)/GI certified, flawless diamond (Luxurious)/Got my cleats on the turf like a linеman/Heavy trees just got burped, now they dryin’/Thеy ready, apparel hella saucy, style (Dripped)/Authentic designer from a town (I’m dipped)/I’ve been gamed up for a minute, for a while (Forever)/Ever since an infant, since a child (I’m clever).”
“I wanted to make a statement with this new release,” E-40 said in a press release for the new track. “Even at my age, I can still evolve and adjust my delivery like I’m a brand-new artist. I’m never gonna get comfortable and I’m always going to push myself to be great, so we can keep beating they ass in the rap game. And just know, this song is just the first of a few surprises that I’m cooking up for 2025.”
“Beating They Ass” serves as E-40’s first new release since his “Rule Of Thumb: Rule 1” project back in November of 2023. That album included collaborations with NBA YoungBoy, Gucci Mane, Too $hort, Larry June, LaRussell, Trae Tha Truth and many more.
