Florida rapper POORSTACY, whose real name was Carlito Milfort Jr., has passed away at the age of 26.

The Boca Raton Police Department confirmed that the rapper died on Saturday (November 29) following an undisclosed incident at a specific location. While many fans speculated about the possibility of suicide in the comments of POORSTACY’s Instagram posts, the official cause of death remains unverified.

Reports indicate that authorities were called to a hotel in Boca Raton on Saturday, after which POORSTACY was transported to a nearby hospital.

A hotel employee reportedly informed TMZ that the rapper experienced a medical emergency on Saturday morning before being rushed to a local hospital. It’s believed he had been staying at the hotel for 10 days, accompanied by a woman and a toddler.

POORSTACY built a growing fanbase through his unique fusion of hip-hop with various rock genres, including heavy metal and post-punk. His eclectic style caught the attention of notable artists like Travis Barker and Oli Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon.

He collaborated with Sykes on the track “Knife Party” and produced multiple songs with Barker. Over his career, POORSTACY released two studio albums under 10k Projects, a label owned by Elliot Grainge. Additionally, he contributed to the Grammy-nominated soundtrack for the 2020 film Bill & Ted Face the Music, which featured prominent bands such as Weezer and Mastodon.
