Nearly two years after Foolio was tragically shot and killed while celebrating his birthday, his family is finally seeing justice served.
This past Mother’s Day weekend, Sandrikas Mays, Foolio’s mother, witnessed all four suspects in her son’s murder being convicted on May 8 — a moment filled with both relief and deep emotion for her and her loved ones.
Following the verdict, Mays shared her reaction on Instagram, posting an image of one of the convicted individuals in tears during the trial. She also uploaded a video featuring bottles of Don Julio tequila, a nod to her son’s moniker, Julio Foolio.
Reports suggest that some of the now-convicted individuals had previously made mocking references to the alcohol brand on social media, adding a layer of bitter irony to the family’s response.
“JUSTICE 4 FOOLIO !!!” she captioned her Instagram post. “The Right Get Back !!! G U I L T Y AS CHARGED …. We all gonna cry together!!!! Wat they say ??? Pop a bottle of Don Julio … Let’s Drink up !!!”
Under Florida law, the four individuals convicted in the murder of Foolio are facing either the death penalty or life imprisonment. The sentencing phase of the trial is scheduled to commence next week, during which both the prosecution and defense will present their recommendations to the judge and jury for deliberation.
Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy continue to be held in custody as they await this next stage in the proceedings.
