A memorial service for the late rapper Lil Poppa in Jacksonville, Florida, turned tragic when gunfire broke out, leaving four people injured.
According to a report from Action News Jax (CBS 47), the incident occurred early Sunday morning (February 22). Jacksonville police revealed that someone, or possibly multiple individuals, fired between 12 to 15 shots during the gathering.
The victims include two women, aged 34 and 39, and two men, aged 37 and 43.
The 34-year-old woman was located at the scene and immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The other three victims managed to reach medical care on their own.
Authorities are actively investigating the case but have yet to identify a suspect at this time.
Lil Poppa, a native of Jacksonville, passed away on February 18 in Georgia. According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, his death was ruled a suicide caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. TMZ also reported that his passing occurred shortly after a single-car accident.
