Future’s 17-year-old son Jakobi Wilburn was arrested during a police bust in January. The police charged the teen with possession of a gun with an altered ID, meaning the serial number had been scratched off.
According to a new report, Future’s son is out of jail and both his mother and father bailed him out. Jakobi was released from jail on Tuesday (March 24) but his father was not present to greet him.
In addition to weapons charges, Jakobi is also facing charges of criminal gang activity, trespassing, possession of a firearm and giving a false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer.
Future’s son is being tried as an adult under Georgia’s stringent gang laws and is facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Wilburn’s mother, Jessica Smith, told TMZ that she and the Atlanta rapper, whose real name is Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, are on top of the situation.
Our son is a minor and to protect his well being in this trying situation, we ask that everyone please respect our privacy at this time.

In 2013, Smith filed a lawsuit against Future accusing him of lying about his income in order to pay less child support. She also took him to court in 2016, accusing him of neglecting their son and again asking for more child support.
Jakobi Wilburn is the oldest of Future’s numerous children.
A trial date hasn’t yet been set.
