While fans eagerly await her second studio project, GloRilla has hinted at exploring a new musical direction: R&B.
On November 19, the “TGIF” rapper took to social media platform X to reveal her intentions of creating an R&B album.
“And I will be doing an R&B album,” she wrote. This news follows her recent feature on Summer Walker’s “Finally Over It” track, “Baller,” alongside Monaleo and Sexyy Red.
Spotify responded to her post with enthusiasm, commenting: “We love a multi-genre queen,” while another user playfully remarked, “See what happens when you fall in love,” likely referencing her relationship with NBA player Brandon Ingram.
However, not everyone was as optimistic, with some expressing doubts due to GloRilla primarily being known for rapping over R&B-inspired beats rather than singing.
Back in June, GloRilla showcased a blend of rap and R&B influence by sampling Keyshia Cole’s “Love” for her track “Typa,” where she rapped about her ideal man. That single, her first solo release since “Glorious”, became a chart success.
GloRilla is in the running for three awards at the 2026 Grammys. Her album “Glorious” has been nominated for Best Rap Album, and her tracks “TGIF” alongside Tyler, The Creator’s “Sticky,” where she collaborated with Red and Lil Wayne, are both contenders for Best Rap Song.
