Gunna is back with his latest project entitled “A Gift & A Curse.”
Clocking in at 45 minutes, the anticipated 15-track project features no guest appearances and includes the previously-released single “bread & butter,” where Gunna refuted claims that he snitched in exchange for his freedom.
In May 2022, Gunna, Young Thug, and other members of YSL, were indicted as part of a massive RICO case put forth by the Fulton County District Attorney. The case claims that YSL, besides being a record label and creative collective, has been involved in a myriad of criminal activities around Atlanta, with its A-list artists being directly implicated in the enterprise.
While Thug remains incarcerated and involved in a slow-moving trial , Gunna was released last December after pleading guilty to a racketeering charge. Gunna submitted an Alford plea, which essentially means that he formally plead guilty despite publicly maintaining his innocence because there was a significant likelihood the jury would not find in his favor.
On Tuesday (June 20), HitsDailyDouble announced that a “Gift & A Curse” will likely debut at #2 on the Billboard 200 with an estimated 78,000 units sold. Although this will see Gunna experience a decrease of over 70,000 albums sold since his chart-topping January 2022 album “DS4Ever,” it still sees the Atlanta rapper achieve an honorable feat.
“A Gift & A Curse” follows up 2022’s “DS4Ever” and marks his first record since getting released from jail.
