The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards were held at the Los Angeles Staples Center on Sunday night (January 26). Due to the tragic death of NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, there was undoubtedly a cloud hanging over the arena but the show went on as scheduled.
The late Nipsey Hussle has won a Grammy Award in the Best Rap Performance category for “Racks In The Middle” featuring Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy. It marks the rapper’s first trophy. Several family members accepted the award for him, including his grandmother who thanked the crowd for “showing all the love” for her grandson “that I have felt for him all of his life and will always live in my heart, so thank you.”
Besides Nipsey Hussle, J. Cole and 21 Savage picked up a Grammy Award in the Best Rap Song category for their collaborative single “A Lot”.
