Hit-Boy channels adversity into creativity as he transforms a recent break-in at his studio into fuel for new music.
On the morning of Sunday (January 4), the acclaimed producer and rapper dropped a fresh track titled “Crow Bars,” inspired by the unsettling incident that unfolded earlier that day.
In an Instagram post, Hit-Boy shared details of the event, revealing that his office and studio were targeted by intruders around 4 a.m.
“This morning around 4am some idiots broke into my office / studio and went thru a hassle just to get next to nothing. I had my Grammys there and I know they wanted my jewels but not today champions FOH,” he explained on Instagram.
“I did a freestyle called ‘Crow Bars’ watching the footage of these low life’s going thru my shit smh. If you know these clowns tag em in the comments I got cash for you.”
Set against jazzy production with horns and piano, the track chronicles the incident, with Hit-Boy emphasizing the robbers’ failure to steal anything meaningful.
With assertive bars, he declares: “They brought crow bars and left with karma / They took my gloves but not my honor / Looked over the Grammys, looked over the gold / And they didn’t touch my kit or my beats or my soul, n*gga.”
The song closes with a message aimed directly at the culprits: “I know one of you bitch-ass n*ggas follow me or something … I’m on you n*ggas, man. Hoe-ass n*ggas. And I’m still icy, still wavy. I’m only getting better and getting stronger.”
“Crow Bars” marks a strong start to the year for the Fontana, California artist, coming off an impressive 2025 filled with major achievements as one of the industry’s top producers.
