Ice Spice reflects on the invaluable guidance she received from Taylor Swift, who played a pivotal role in her career by inviting her to collaborate on the 2023 remix of “Karma.”
Their partnership blossomed into a genuine friendship, which Ice Spice discussed in her NYLON cover story published on September 10.
According to Ice Spice, one of Swift’s most memorable pieces of advice continues to inspire her. “The thing about Taylor is that she keeps it so real,” she said. “Not even kidding, but one of the biggest things that I always think about that Taylor said is ‘As long as you keep making music, everything’s going to be fine.’”
The rapper emphasized that their connection extends beyond professional conversations. While hanging out, they often talk about everyday topics like food or life’s moments. Ice Spice revealed that Swift’s words have become a source of strength during bouts of writer’s block or when her confidence wavers.
“We’re talking about the food we’re eating or whatever’s going on in the moment,” she said. “Whenever I’m feeling doubtful or not as confident, having writer’s block, no matter what it is, things like that really, really stand out to me. She said that to me a few years ago, and it still stood with me.”
Their close bond has seen them hit the stage together, notably during Swift’s New Jersey stop on the Eras Tour. Performing the “Karma” remix live at the sold-out MetLife Stadium marked a milestone in their collaboration. Additionally, the duo has been spotted enjoying public events together, including attending two consecutive Super Bowls to support Travis Kelce, Swift’s fiancé and Kansas City Chiefs player.
After maintaining a lower profile throughout much of 2025, Ice Spice is ready to reignite her music career. She recently ended her rumored feud with Latto and unveiled their September collaboration, “Gyatt.” Fans are also buzzing about an upcoming release featuring a sample from M.I.A.’s iconic track “Bad Girls,” aptly titled “Baddie Baddie.”
