Following the surprise release of his new album entitled “Might Delete Later,” J. Cole kept his word to remove the Kendrick Lamar diss track, “7 Minute Drill,” from all streaming platforms.

“7 Minute Drill” lasted a full tracking week counting toward Billboard chart stats before being scrubbed from streaming services. While on stage at his Dreamville Fest, J. Cole voiced his plan to have the track removed from all DSPs and five days later he delivered on his promise. The move has drawn backlash from fans and people in the Hip-Hop community.

“I’m so proud of that project except for one part. One part of that sh*t makes me feel like that’s the lamest sh*t I ever did in my f*cking life.” He later gave Lamar his flowers, “Dreamville, y’all love Kendrick Lamar? As do I. I want to come up here and publicly say that was the lamest and goofiest sh*t…it made me feel like 10 years ago when I was moving incorrectly.”

Kendrick Lamar dropped a bomb on Hip-Hop with his scathing verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which saw him target his “Big Three” running mates Drake and J. Cole on the Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit.
