After weeks of speculation, J.I.D has announced his next album entitled “God Does Like Ugly” and confirmed it’s dropping later this year.
In anticipation of the album, the Grammy-nominated rapper shared an album trailer, depicting scenes from a seemingly lost world with stylistic nods to iconic films like “Mad Max,” all set against the familiar backdrop of Atlanta.
Speaking about the upcoming release, J.I.D. shared: “Starting this new journey coming off The Forever Story has been a very strange, productive yet tedious process, but I live my life by the saying ‘You can only control what you can control.’ So this is the first step into a new world that I control. And. It’s. F*cking. UGLY.”
“God Does Like Ugly” will be 15 tracks in total and J.I.D’s fourth studio album has a lot riding on it.
The announcement follows last month’s release of “WRK,” J.I.D’s first new solo track since the 2023 double-single Blackboyz present Half Doin Dope/Van Gogh with Lil Yachty and BabyTron.
The new project is now available for pre-order, and comes out on August 8 via Dreamville/Interscope.
