Alicia Keys might have more than an “Empire State Of Mind.”
The rumors about a new collaboration with Jay-Z spurred as Keys took to social media to announce that her and Hov’s 2009 hit, “Empire State of Mind,” officially surpassed 1 billion streams.
“1 Dream. 1 Song. 1 Billion streams,” she wrote, adding, “Thank you! We love you. What’s next…”

Her caption was accompanied by a 15-second black and white video that sees her walking up to Jigga, although no other information was provided.
The clip showed Jay-Z dressed in a white tee, denim jeans and Timberland boots with a durag tied on his head, reminiscent of his early-2000s Hov era, as he stood in an empty lobby-like space. Keys then walked up and took her place beside him, placing an elbow on his shoulder as a muffled loop of her vocals from “Empire State of Mind” played.
“Empire State of Mind” appeared on Jay-Z’s 11th studio album entitled “The Blueprint 3” and is both a commercial and critical success. It nabbed him his first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and earned the duo two Grammy Awards for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song.
